Cat and Dog Euthanasia in Irvine

When you lose a pet, you lose a family member. At Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital, we know how deeply it can hurt to have to say goodbye to a steadfast friend that has stood by your side through the good times and the bad. To help you and your loved one in this difficult process, we offer our cat and dog euthanasia services with nothing but the kindness and dignity you both deserve. We are pet owners, too, and we consider yours to be part of our extended family.

Knowing When It’s Time

Our veterinary team will do all that we can to care for your pet and keep them healthy. If we believe that their current condition can be improved with further treatment, we can certainly offer that as an option. However, if their condition is irreversible and their quality of life cannot be restored, we will let you know immediately, because we need to consider what’s best for their well-being. If your pet is unable to eat, stand, control their bowels or has a terminal disease, euthanasia may be the kindest thing you can do for them. However, we will not settle on this choice without your full consent.

What You Can Expect

If you are prepared to move forward, we can help you schedule a day and time that works best for you and your loved one. You are more than welcome to bring along friends and family, and if you need a few more moments with your pet, just let us know.

We are glad to comply with any requests you might have, and are always willing to lend a comforting hand (or shoulder) if it is needed. You can also choose to stay in the room or remain outside, if you prefer. Everyone deals with grief in their own way, and we will respect whatever decisions you make, because we want this procedure to go as smoothly as possible for you and your companion.

You have the option of taking your pet’s remains home with you to bury them in a specially chosen location, or we can also have them cremated and kept in an urn of your choosing. All you have to do is let us know, and we will make sure your wishes are fulfilled. Please contact us at any time if you are considering our cat and dog euthanasia services; we’ll give you all the information and support you need.
